Hahnemann Medical Clinic Point Richmond: Both Roger Morrison, MD and Nancy Herrick, MA, PA, DH (H) specialize in homeopathic treatment. The primary focus of treatment at the Hahnemann Medical Clinic is constitutional homeopathy. The practitioner spends typically two hours in direct interview seeking to understand the health problem as well as the body type, the emotional nature and energetic aspects of the patient. Frequently several more hours are needed in analysis of the information obtained before the practitioner is able to choose the homeopathic medicine most suited to the patient. Homeopathic treatment is beneficial in a wide variety of medical conditions – from simple allergies and inflammations to life-threatening disorders. Purely surgical conditions and genetic disorders are less often benefited.
Dr. Herrick also focuses a great deal of attention on nutrition. Using the work of Dr. Weston Price as a basis for a healthy diet, Nancy has found that nutrition plays an important role in both physical and emotional well-being. She employs dietary recommendation as well as a wide range of vitamins and supplements in treatment. Patients may ask for nutritional consultation with or without homeopathic treatment. Dr. Herrick is also able to guide patients in the use of natural and organic skin care products. These products are useful for the treatment of acne and other cosmetic conditions as well as to prevent premature skin aging.

Publications by Roger Morrison, MD:
Desktop Companion to Physical Pathology by Roger Morrison, MD – $79.00
“This is a book that took some courage to write and badly needed to be written. Although wholly contemporary in feeling and style, it speaks to the dilemma of busy homeopathic physicians in every time and place: how to keep doing quality work under pressure of time, reputation, and ever more difficult and demanding cases to come up with creditable prescriptions without delay. Dr. Morrison states ‘The purpose of this book is threefold: It is meant first as an aid to be used at the time of the interview to cue the practitioner toward likely remedies for a particular condition. The second is as a study guide, bringing the main points of the remedies into focus. And finally, (the third is) to give advice about treatment based on the experience of myself and my colleagues at our center. The book as it stands is splendid and unequaled elsewhere. It could well become an important achievement for the society at large in the future." (Reviewed by Richard Moskowitz, MD, DHT)
Desktop Guide to Keynote and Confirmatory Symptoms by Roger Morrison, MD – $68.00
“Which homeopathic book in my library gets the most use? It is definitely not the Desktop Guide. This book has never been in my library. It sits on my desk in my consultation room for ready access, and I refer to it frequently throughout each and every day of homeopathic practice. The Desktop Guide replaced my copy of Boericke's Materia Medica with repertory on the day I received it in the mail. I find it far more useful than Boericke , more relevant to clinical practice.
Morrison's Desktop Guide is a very useful reference in the clinical setting. He has compiled and distinguished the most important symptoms of nearly 300 remedies. It takes very little time during a consultation to pick out important points that may lead to the confirmation or elimination of a remedy which is being considered.
I recommend this book as the most practical materia medica you are likely to own. As its title suggests, it belongs on your desk, not on your library shelf.” (Reviewed by Dean Crothers, MD)
“The information is reliable and clearly presented in such a form as may be easily accessed in the midst of the demands of everyday practice. Yet the true depth and precision of this text only reveals itself after careful study and reflection in the quiet of one's own home." (Forward by Jonathan Shore, MD and Bill Gray, MD)
Carbon: Organic Chemicals and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy by Roger Morrison, MD – $108.00
This book explores the carbon-based remedies used in homeopathy. The first section describes the underlying mental, general and physical characteristics common to the entire group. The text then details the known material medica of over 140 carbon remedies currently in homeopathic use. Finally an extensive appendix aides in the case-analysis and differentiation of this complex group of remedies.
“I cannot say enough about how impressed I am with the amount of work that went into creating this incredible resource. Now that Roger has presented this information in such a usable form, it is our task as homeopaths to find out how we can use it to help our patients recover. For those of you who find these new ideas about remedy families and relationships appealing, I encourage you to try out this information and feed back to the community your observations and experiences.
I can highly recommend Roger Morrison’s book and workshop, Carbon: Organic and Hydrocarbon Remedies in Homeopathy. I believe they are valuable additions to the many new resources available today. However, even without the new ideas on analysis, the 649 pages of materia medica on the organic compound and carbon remedies consolidated in this book makes it a ‘must have’ resource.” (From the review by Randall Bradley Simillimum, Summer/Fall 2006)
Roger Morrison, MD: Dr. Morrison attended medical school in his home state of Tennessee, graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1978. In his early career he worked as an emergency room physician. In 1978 while still in medical training, Dr. Morrison attended his first seminar on homeopathy in Athens, Greece. Struck by the amazing results he observed in Athens, Dr. Morrison determined to return to study at the Athenian Center for Homeopathic Medicine. He spent four years learning to speak Greek then returned to Athens and completed a two-year fellowship in Homeopathic medicine, eventually earning the prestigious diploma of the Athenian Center in 1984.
Upon completion of his fellowship in Greece, Dr. Morrison moved to California to assist in establishing the Hahnemann Medical Clinic and the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy. He has been one of the foremost educators and leaders of homeopathy ever since, lecturing extensively in the USA and abroad. Having published over 20 articles in most of the leading homeopathic journals in the world, Dr. Morrison began the task of writing textbooks for homeopathic practitioners. His first book, Desktop Guide was completed in 1993 followed by Desktop Companion in 1999. His most recent work, Carbon: Hydrocarbon and Organic Chemicals in Homeopathy was completed in 2006.
Nancy Herrick, MA, PA, DH (H): Dr. Herrick attended her first lecture on homeopathy in 1972 just weeks after receiving her Masters degree in psychology and child development. It was then she realized that homeopathy was her true life’s calling. It was an exhilarating feeling to find this but disconcerting to realize that she had to immediately embark on a whole new intensive course of study. Never one for half way measures she sought out the best homeopathic education available but discovered that homeopathy, at that time, was a dying art and much of it she had to create for herself.
Ms. Herrick became one of the members of the now historic “Bay Area Homeopathic Study Group.” She began her first job in health care at the, also historic, “Bay Area Woman’s Health Collective.” At the “Hering Family Health Clinic” in 1974 Ms. Herrick began her career as a homeopath. In 1980 she attended UC Davis and received her Physician Assistant degree/license. In 1985 she was on the founding committee behind the simultaneous creation of the now famous “Hahnemann Medical Clinic” and “The Hahnemann College of Homeopathy.”
Dr. Herrick is a widely respected homeopath and homeopathic educator. She began her extensive career as a teacher and lecturer in 1983 with the International Foundation for Homeopathy. She pioneered the use of video to teach homeopaths. Since that time she has lectured throughout Europe, America, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and India. The Hahnemann College of Homeopathy, where she was one of the main teachers, was the leading USA school training homeopaths for over 20 years.
She has published widely both in the United States and abroad and has been extensively involved in research and development of new homeopathic medicines including: Carbon dioxide, Lac Delphinum (Milk of the Dolphin), Lac Leoninum (milk of the lion), Lac Loxodonta (Milk of the Elephant), Lac Equinum (milk of the mare), Lac Lupinum (milk of the wolf), Limenitis Bredavi (California Sister butterfly), Maisaura Lapidea (dinosaur bone), Sanguis Soricis (Blood of the rat), Mandragora, Lotus, Ginseng, Rosa Gallica, Rosa St. Francis, Ayahuasca and Anhelonium, and with her students most recently: Lac Puma (Milk of the Mountain Lion), and Ursus Horribilus (Blood of the Grizzly bear). She has published eight of these studies in her book: Animal Minds, Human Voices and seven of the plant studies in Sacred Plants, Human Voices. It has been reported in the literature that these medicines have benefitted patients throughout the world.
In 1993 Ms. Herrick had an intensive sabbatical in Bombay, India at the center of renowned homeopath Dr. Rajan Sankaran. She brought revolutionary ideas from this clinic to the attention of European and American homeopaths. She continues her studies with Dr. Sankaran to this day with the most deep respect for his mastery.
Since 2002 Dr. Herrick has developed a passion for the study of nutrition using the research of Dr. Weston Price and the Nourishing Traditions schools of thought. She has added this to her work and is excited at the added success her patients are finding in their search for health and balance.
Ms. Herrick uses a unique blend of intuition, experience and intellect in her work. Her busy practice centers on the treatment of chronic disease and emotional disorders in both adults and children. Ms. Herrick seeks to look into the core of her patients state and find the one substance on the planet that matches them on the mental, emotional and physical level. She is one of the most influential and expert homeopaths in the world.
The Hahnemann College of Homeopathy recently closed its doors after twenty years of operation, training over 200 physicians and other health professionals in classical homeopathy. This four-year course provided lectures from some of the most respected homeopaths of our time: Roger Morrison, Nancy Herrick, Jonathan Shore, Deborah Gordon. The lectures from the first year-and-a-half of this course were video-taped and then carefully edited in order to make the crucial information available to all homeopaths. The video-taped series (in five parts) is now available in DVD format and has also been converted into audio CDs.
